Hi,

For about 2 years we've been using a Sinus 154 DSL SE modem to connect to our provider Kamp DSL (3096K/384K). Everything has been working perfectly until recently. All of a sudden the connection was lost and no matter what I try I can't get the modem to reconnect. The DSL indicator on the modem is on, so the T-Com line appears to be Ok. I already asked Kamp DSL to have a look at it and they claim that at some point, while I was trying to connect, the modem had a connection shortly... but still the status remains "Getrennt". Their conclusion was that there's a problem at our side.

While I was trying to connect I checked the "Logbuch Sicherheit" of the modem and I noticed a number of strange things. Here's what my latest 4 connection attempts looked like:

Attempt #4
17:35:18 PPPoE Stopp
17:35:16 PPPoE1 Started PPP
17:35:16 PPPoE empfange PADS
17:35:16 PPPoE sende PADR
17:35:16 PPPoE empfange PADO
17:35:16 PPPoE sende PADI
17:35:16 Einwahl(PPPoE1)

Attempt #3
17:33:42 PPPoE Stopp
17:33:42 PPPoE1 get IP: <my static IP>
17:33:42 Benutzername und Passwort: Ok
17:33:40 PPPoE1 Started PPP
17:33:40 PPPoE empfange PADS
17:33:40 PPPoE sende PADR
17:33:40 PPPoE empfange PADO
17:33:40 PPPoE sende PADI
17:33:40 Einwahl(PPPoE1)

Attempt #2
17:28:28 PPPoE Stopp
17:28:26 PPPoE1 Started PPP
17:28:26 PPPoE empfange PADS
17:28:26 PPPoE sende PADR
17:28:26 PPPoE empfange PADO
17:28:26 PPPoE sende PADI
17:28:26 Einwahl(PPPoE1)

Attempt #1
17:27:32 PPPoE sende PADI
17:27:27 PPPoE sende PADI
17:27:27 PPPoE sende PADI
17:27:27 PPPoE sende PADI
17:27:27 Einwahl(PPPoE1)

I don't know why those 4 connection attempts look different. Attempt #3 looks pretty much Ok to me... except for that last line (PPPoE Stopp).

So what do you guys think, could there be a problem with my modem or ....?

Any response is much appreciated. Thnx!
